1.5KW Solar Array w/ Dual Axis Tracking & Grid Tied
18- 85watt BP Solar panels
Watsun dual axis tracker
2500watt Xantrex Inverter
16 BP 585 solar panels, Outback MX-60 charge controller, Trace SW 4024 sine wave inverter, C & D batteries, Thermo Siphon Hot Water System
Our system consists of approximately 2.6 KW of photovoltaics (12 each Sharp 165 W modules and 12 each Hoxan 48 W modules), Trace (Xantrex) SW 4024 inverter, Xantrex C60 charge controllers, and an IBE 1350 amp hour lead-acid battery in a stand-alone system capable of grid-tie. In addition, there are three smaller systems providing dedicated 12 Volt power for special loads and water pumping. These systems provide 95% of the power requirements for our 2,300 square foot home approximately 8 months out of the year.
Domestic hot water is supplied by 64 square feet of flat plate collector in a closed loop system with 80 gallons of hot water storage. Propylene glycol anti-freeze is circulated through the double wall heat exchanger system by a pump powered directly by a 10 W photovoltaic module.

(4) 2 foot by 20 foot black solar panels by Sun Heater. A solar heating system just for above ground pools.
(18) BP-585 solar panels, pole mounted on a dual axis tracker with a Xantrex SunTie XR inverter.
24 volt bank of AGM batteries
Prosine 1000 Watt Pure Sine-Wave inverter
This owner built home has 2 pole mounted net metered PV arrays of Photowatt panels totaling 2860 watts with a 4000 watt Trace Inverter & an Outback MX60. The tracking system is made and designed by the owner with parts from recycled satellite dishes. A 2500 watt wind turbine & batteries. A solar hot water system made up of (2) 4x10 panels, 2 pumps and 132 gallon storage.
The north-south orientation of the house, a large overhang, 2 inches of foam insulation under the metal roof, Thermopane windows and shade trees keep the house cool in summer. The owner used recycled lumber & bricks and milled trees on the property to build the house and continues to use harvested & downed trees in a wood burning stove.
