SOLAR HOT WATER - Works very well to provide
nearly all of our hot water in the summer. On a sunny day, our
system typically reaches 130F or more in the reservoir tank that
feeds our high-efficiency natural-gas hot water heater. The mixer
has been set to 115F before it goes into the natural-gas hot water
heater. It is difficult to quantify much with a hot water system
since natural-gas usage is measured for the whole house (not just
the hot water heater). SOLAR PV SYSTEM - The system has a website for monitoring electricity production down to the hour. This is very useful for helping people understand just how much of the electricity is produced at different times during the day. Sun angle is a bigger player than I thought.
