We are rebuilding the house one wall at a time, using as much sustainable/recycled material as we can, including recycled park benches and other material from Bergen Park on Market St. and Leary way for the knee bracing etc., beams from a train tunnel and non-toxic paint/finishes on the interior, as well as lumber milled from our off-grid cabin on Hood Canal. The yard is comprised of native and low maintenance plants, with the majority needing water only 3-4 times a year, and the organic vegetable garden requiring water only on Fridays, even with the dry summer we have just experienced. We are also working with neighbors to exchange fruits and vegetables in order to reduce trips to/and dependency on grocery stores. 

  

Directions to Site: From Interstate 5 or Highway 99/Aurora Avenue, head west on 80th or 85th to 26th Ave NW, take a left (south). We are on the corner of NW 77th St and 26th Ave NW, across the street from loyal Heights Elementary school and playfield. To all of you Ballardites, take 24th Ave to 77th, head west 2 blocks past the school, and look for the house on the right/northwest corner, 7703-26th Ave NW. Enjoy!
