Home is a 1913 vintage cottage with numerous
contemporary updates including: - Home was completely re-insulated and over-insulated wherever possible; - Home was completely re-plumbed and re-wired; - Numerous structural elements, ties, bracing, columns and some foundation elements added for seismic. - Oil furnace with asbestos ducts changed to electric air-to-air heat pump; - All windows changed to thermal pane/thermal break wood windows; - Operable skylights with sun shades added for natural ventilation; - Solar hot water heating; - 2.1 kwh solar PV array; - Most lawn areas were deleted in favor of low water garden beds. |
