This is a recently completed 2200 ft2 mixed-use building, housing the
Artisans Group’s new Remodeling Design Center and Corporate
Offices. The Group specializes in remodeling with a green bent.
As you tour the building, you may notice a blending of old and new.
Although the floor plan in the commercial space is very similar to the
original, the interior of the building was gutted to the studs to update
all of plumbing and electrical systems. The original oak and fir flooring
that was saved has been carefully replicated in areas that received
new wood flooring. Traditional millwork gives the look of being
original, but is made of advanced materials, which offer durability
and easy maintenance. This is an excellent example of reusing an
existing structure and products as well as infill development.

Come join us October 3rd, 2009, for the Olympia Solar Tour of Homes. For the second year running, The Artisans Group is proud to participate in this event. This year we’ll have two stops on the tour to showcase some of the latest solar technologies that work well in our region.Swing by our offices on the tour, we’ll have Schüco USA products on display. Schüco USA is a manufacturer of high quality photovoltaic and solar thermal systems. We will demonstrate different approaches to implementing solar technology and what it could mean for your particular situation.
Our second tour feature this year is the Newsom Project. We completed an extensive remodel to this dynamic west side home in 2008. Here you’ll be able to see how the homeowner integrates the power of 16 photovoltaic panels and a 32 square foot solar thermal collector into their daily living.
