Jefferson Energy Center completed donating 1,000 CFL lights this past week at Port Townsend's Food Coop. The savings to Jefferson County residents will exceed $5,000 each year, $5 per light bulb. The replacing incandescent bulbs with the 1,000 CFLs will eliminate over 40 Tons of CO2 emissions each year.
Jefferson Energy Center, the newest chapter of Solar Washington, began its "1,000 Lights That Make a Point" this past Fall in an effort to raise awareness of "smart energy" utilization.
